All done with day 3 in Budapest

Its only 6:21, but we're pretty beat.  Spent the day walking around Budapest again. This time we went south, and saw the Hungary National Museum.  Snuck in with a bunch of performance art students, and got to tour around it for free.  Then went to the Freedom Monument, and a nice park around it.  Coming down from the monument, we got lost again, and ended up back-tracking quite alot to get to a place we were familiar with.  But everything worked out.  Came back to the hotel, and then went out for some Kreme deserts and Kave (coffee).  Tommorrow its off to figure out the bus system to see another cool park, then we have to figure out how to get to the trains and we're off to see Nicole... Hope we don't get too lost...

Post Card?

Just a thought, if you'd like us to send a postcard to you, email us, or write your address as a comment (which ever you think is safer...)  and we'll get it and write you back.
Good idea eh?

Day One in Budapest

Well we are done with one day here in Budapest.  We spent the day walking around the castle hill area, and crossed over to the historic part of town.  We saw the opera house, the castle, two churches, and a whole bunch of other old buildings.  We were lost for a good part of the morning, but Bethany got us back on track, and we made it through everything we wanted to see.  We went to the Terror Museum, which is an informational trip through Nazi and Communist control of Hungary.  It was very well done, but most of the signs and information on the walls and the videos was in Hungarian, which took a bit away from the experience as we couldn't understand it!  But there were little papers in each room in English describing what the 'theme' of the room was.  All and all a good day.  Tommorrow:  More old buildings! Yea!  It should be fun.  Then on friday we meet Nicole, one of Bethany's old exchange students in Gyor, and staying with her for a day.  Its only 10:16 here, but I think we're going to go to bed soon, so we can start up early.
We'll try to get some pictures up soon, there is a link on the left hand side of the page, maybe a quarter of the way down that says "Pictures".
Love to all.

We've Made It

Well after 2 days of fun plane travel, we're here in Budapest, Hungary.
We are staying at the Hotel Burg, which is in the "Castle Hill" area of the city.  So named because there is a big castle very close to us, which we will go see today.
There were no problems getting here, the planes were all on time, and the bus ride to our hotel was as simple  as we could ask.  We did feel a bit like Heidi, when after a night on the plane we tried to put our shoes on to find our feet bloated from sitting so long.  I believe they have gone down in size now.
Today, were off to see Budapest, and find some good cafe's.  We'll check in later, as the hotel has internet for around 2 dollars every half hour.  (which is 400 hungarian dollars).
See you soon!

The Count Down has Begun

Just one more week till the wedding and 9 days till we leave for Europe.  It is a bit intimidating that I've never gone to Europe before and that we will be spending a whole month over there... but Bethany has done an amazing job at organizing this whole thing, and I don't think we'll have any problems that we won't be able to deal with.  Lets just pray that this final week goes smoothly!
