Picture Perfect

we're finally getting around to figuring out wedding photography. the mom of my older sister's best friend while growing up in KC, is an awesome photographer. after much procrastinating, on my part, i've finally gotten a hold of her, and hopefully she'll be able to do the wedding pictures, and maybe a before-the-wedding-day-at-the-park shoot.

also, one of our good friends from high school (who is also going to school at pitt state) is a art major focusing in photography (aren't we fortunate!) maybe we'll be able to bribe him into showing off his talents for the wedding (perhaps a little liquid persuasion might work).

attack of the "supposed to's"

our wedding will not be the traditional black tie affair, as you, astute blog readers, have probably figured out by now. however, this concept is difficult for my mother to cope with.

every time wedding talk comes up with mom another "supposed to" problem emerges.

today the dilemma was the fact that we're doing cheesecake instead of regular cake (delicious and cheaper, thank you sam's club). everybody knows the bride and groom are "supposed to" cut, and then smear, chalky white, tasteless wedding cake all over their faces, and then save the little bride and groom cake topper. we, however, will have pre-cut cheesecake (we could probably pretend to cut the cake) and i want rose petals instead of hideous plastic ethnically-generic cake toppers.

poor mom, i just have to be different.
